Reasons why you should visit Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

There's a lot of reason why you should definitely visit Puerto Princesa, Palawan because of its beautiful beaches and fine white sands. For my opinion if you want to have a peaceful vacation rather than having beach night parties etc, Puerto Princesa is probably the most perfect destination for you. Puerto Princesa City has a total land of area of 253, 982 hectares making it the largest city in the country. 

Pristine white sand beaches are found in almost all islands. Strands of white sand beaches Hugh the coves and bays of Palawan coastline, providing a scenic contrast to the green canopies and blue waters. Each islands offers different attractions and there are plenty to choose from. So i'm blogging some things to do and place to visit for your itinerary trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. 


1. BAKER'S HILL
Baker's Hill is very popular in Puerto Princesa City it offers a wide variety of delicious delicacies of Palawenos. There are public jeepneys and tricycle near the airport if you want to have DIY city tours. The Tricycle price range to Php 60.00- 150.00 depends on the distance of your hotel to baker's hill. 
Baker's Hill is a place where you can buy a lot of pasalubongs for your loved ones. Their hopia is a must try. There are some restaurants inside the place where you can have your lunch/dinner but make sure that you came early because there's a lot of people waiting outside. They also have different attractions like ranch, life size characters, souvenir shops, restaurants and a good view for picture taking.

2. PUERTO PRINCESA BAYWALK
If you want to have some fresh air you can visit Puerto Princesa Baywalk. You can walk/run if you want or rent a bicycle for Php 60.00/hour. For my opinion the best time to go here is 4:30PM so you can watch the beautiful sunset. There are souvenir stalls along the baywalk.

3. KALUI RESTAURANT
Kalui is located at the road of Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City near the airport. The restaurant is a must visit place among tourists. Once you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by their friendly staffs. Kalui Restaurant is made of native wooden house. You will sit on the soft pillow like japanese inspired style of eating. Every footwear should be left outside before entering the restaurant and it will be placed in small lockers. They offer a wide variety of menu like seafoods and vegetables etc. Plus, it is very affordable.

4. VIEW DECK
You can stopover in Buenavista View Deck it is along the way going to UnderGround River Wharf. You will be amazed with the scenic view of the greens and hues of Puerto Princesa. There was no entrance fee. They have a lot of sari sari stores along the way if you want to bought some snacks.

5. HONDA BAY
Just a few minute away from the city proper, hop onto a boat and go island hopping a perfect place for beach lovers is in Honda Bay, there are dozens of white sand beaches beckoning from the clear blue waters; travelers may go to dive, snorkel or swim in the beautiful still waters of the bay, or just sit on the sand and soak up the sun. The boat ride depends upon the number of your group. Each island in honda bay has a different thrills like the snake island it has a sand bar connecting to the other island, Pandan island, bat island and many more to choose from.

6. SUBTERRANEAN UNDERGROUND RIVER
Subterranean Underground river is one hour drive away from the city town proper. You can booked a tour to avoid hassle in the registration. Make sure you'll booked a month before your arrival. Underground river is one of the 7 wonders of the world. This is a must visit place in Puerto Princesa because it is one of the largest cave rooms in the world. The cave includes a rock formations of vegetables, animals, chapels, saints etc. The tour guide will tell what the rock formation is and it's up to your imagination. The best formation for me is the huge candle in cathedral area.

Take note: There's a lot of robber monkeys along the way to Underground they snatch jewelries and even your foods so beware. 

7. CROCODILE FARM
Formly known as the crocodile farm and nature park. It serves as the sanctuary of the Philippine crocodile that is endemic to the country. It is a 30 minutes ride from the city town proper. Aside from the crocodiles they also have a gallery of skeletons of whales and museums. Guest are also treated to an opportunity to have picture taken with the crocodiles for a small fee of Php 35.00.

Here are some of the places i've been to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Hope that you can used this as a guide for your trip, there's a lot more unknown places to be discovered so keep on exploring and see the beauty of the world.
